Critical Access Hospitals and Mortality Rates

A study recently published in the Journal of the American Medical Association suggests that critical access hospitals have higher rates of patient mortality than non-critical access hospitals.  This study has been widely criticized largely for the methods used in the study.  The Flex Monitoring Team, a group devoted to rural healthcare and critical access hospital-related research, has published a particularly critical response the the study.  Read it here.
